Director of Revenue Cycle Management
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will oversee all aspects of billing and revenue cycle management for Geneoscopy. This critical role will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all billing activities, build and manage a high-performing billing team, and work cross-functionally across the organization to support financial and operational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in revenue cycle management, including but not limited to, healthcare billing and reconciliation, financial reporting, team leadership, strategic problem-solving, and a commitment to optimizing billing workflows and enhancement of revenue capture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive billing operations strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Lead and manage the billing operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Guide a cross-functional team to proactively address concerns from the field, respond to feedback from stakeholders, and quickly adapt processes to improve efficiency and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with market access, finance, customer service, and other departments to streamline billing processes and resolve issues.
- Billing Operations:
- Oversee the end-to-end billing processes, including claim submission, payment posting, denials management, and cash collections.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing accuracy, processing times, and cash collection.
- Implement effective controls and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific laws and regulations.
- Revenue Cycle Management:
- Analyze and optimize revenue cycle workflows to maximize cash flow and reduce accounts receivable (AR).
- Manage and troubleshoot complex billing issues, including payer-related denials and escalations.
- Partner with the finance team to support accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
- Billing Customer Service:
- Ensure the billing team is well-trained to handle inquiries from patients, provider offices, and other stakeholders professionally and accurately.
- Develop and implement training programs for billing representatives to support a high standard of customer service, focusing on resolving billing-related questions, disputes, and clarifications efficiently.
- Regularly review and update policies and procedures, ensuring the billing team understands and adheres to current guidelines and compliance standards.
- Monitor customer service performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall patient and provider experience with billing interactions.
- Systems and Technology:
- Oversee the use of billing software and technology systems, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing upgrades or new solutions as necessary.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across billing systems and related interfaces.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with billing practices and improving audit readiness.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess 10+ years of experience with Revenue Cycle Management.
- At least 7 years in RCM and at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Possess substantial experience with managing billing teams, claims submission, appeals, etc.
- Exemplify a thorough understanding of RCM-related analytics and the effective use of data and information.
- Exemplify the ability to multitask and thrive in an agile, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
- Possess proficient verbal and written communication skills, while willing to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization to achieve the desired results.

- Preferred Additional Experience:
- Experience with PAMA (Protecting Access to Medicare Act) is ideal.
- Experience working within a laboratory and/or diagnostics company.
SCHEDULE
This is a salaried position requiring at least 40 hours per week. There may be projects that require activities beyond the standard hours.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Base salary range: $150,000 - 200,000/annually, determined based on the candidate's experience, knowledge, and abilities.
- Bonus: discretionary annual bonus based on a percentage of the employee's base salary
